Excellent results on Bath carpet clean

This week saw our Bath technician, Jake spend the majority of the day at a recently vacated 4 bedroomed house in Lansdown. As is often the case, it is not until you move all of your furniture out that you realise that the carpets are in need of a deep clean! As well as general soiling, there were a lot of stains in the house for Jake to tackle.

Once Jake had completed a walk around the house to get a good look at the overall condition of the carpets & noted particular stains that required treating, he could start the cleaning process. This begins with thoroughly vacuuming all of the carpets with a commercial vacuum.

Then a stain treatment is applied to the stains that have been noted & the carpets are covered in an eco-sanitising pre-spray. These solutions are then given time to dwell which helps to breakdown the stains to give them the best chance of lifting.

A rotary agitation machine is then used to apply the cleaning solutions & hot water to the carpets whilst applying pressure to help breakdown the soiling further & release it from the bottom of the pile. For the final part of the cleaning process is the use of the rinse extraction machine, this extracts the water, cleaning products & the soiling from the carpets. In cases when there is a heavy soil load, this part of the process is repeated to ensure maximum results.

Superb results on Wood Floor Sanding & Refinishing in Bristol

We were recently contacted by a customer who was enquiring about having the wooden floor in her galley kitchen refurbished, as with all enquires of this nature, we arrange for one of our trained technicians to call out to the customer & conduct a short survey. We like to survey all hard flooring as this helps us determine the condition & specific requirements of the floor & also allow us to carry out the following checks as necessary;

  • Assessment of type of flooring & grout
  • Assessment of damp levels & sub-floor
  • Test clean & strip (if needed) of discrete sample area
  • Application of finishing seals (to help you decide what type of new finish you might require)

Following on from the successful survey, our technician spent a few days this week carrying out the sanding & refinishing. As you can see from this picture, the floor was very worn with obvious signs of where the majority of the footfall was in the kitchen. As this was a tight space, it was an ideal job for just one technician.

To start the process, we use a dustless belt sander to ensure the floor is level & remove all signs of any previous finishes that have been applied to the floor. Using this machine also ensures a high quality finish whilst creating a clean & virtually dustless working environment.

The belt sander will get the majority of a wooden floor sanded back, but won’t reach into the edges of a room. This is where an edge sander is used. We use a Pallman Edge Sander paired with a high power, filtering vacuum to ensure minimal dust.

This machine can reach right up to the skirting boards & has high powered lights so we can clearly see what we are doing to deliver a high quality finish.

Once all the sanding has been completed & the floor is completely dust free, it is time to apply the finish. On this occasion, the customer had requested a natural look to the overall finish.

First a primer is applied, followed by 2 coats of Bona Traffic HD (Matt). This delivers a light, natural look with a commercial level of toughness.

As you can see from these comparison photos, the dramatic difference between these photos shows what a huge improvement this process can make to your wooden floors. A fantastic result by our technician, Pete!

Great results on Commercial upholstery in Wales

Following a recent enquiry regarding some commercial upholstery cleaning at a coffee shop, our technician Pete travelled to Wales this week to carry out the clean on 30 chairs. As you can imagine, the chairs in a busy coffee shop were heavily soiled & in need of a deep clean.

On arrival, all the chairs had been arranged in an area with easy access to hot water & electricity to enable help to work as efficiently as possible.

To start the cleaning process, Pete thoroughly vacuumed the chairs to remove any surface debris. He then treated the various stains & applied an eco-sanitising pre spray to the seat pads which he then gave time to dwell to help breakdown the stains as much as possible.

Pete then used a handheld agitation tool to ensure maximum cleaning using hot water & cleaning solutions.

Then it was time to rinse extract the seat pads, this is where all the remaining soiling, water & cleaning solutions are extracted from the chairs. Depending on the level of soiling, this step of the process can sometimes be repeated.

Upon completion, the chairs were all looking much cleaner & fresher, & were left to dry naturally overnight ready for the next batch of customers in the morning.

Great results on Stone & Wood floor cleaning in Somerset

This week saw two of our technicians spend a productive few days cleaning a range of wooden & stone floors in a lovely commercial property near Castle Cary in Somerset. This was following on from a successful survey where the floors were evaluated & pre-tested so that we knew what we were working with & we were able to put together a comprehensive plan & quotation for the customer.

To prepare the floor for cleaning, our technician thoroughly swept the floor to remove all the surface debris.

They then applied an environmentally friendly stone cleaning solution to the floor using the rotary agitation machine which gently cleans the floor whilst applying some pressure to help lift any stubborn staining.

A wet vac was then used to collect all the remaining slurry. This part of the cleaning process is often repeated to ensure the maximum amount of soiling is recovered.

Once this has been done, it is time to manually clean the grout. Unfortunately for our technicians, this means getting down on their hands & knees to clean the grout by hand using a grout brush.

Once the stone & grout have been successfully cleaned, air-movers are used to force the floor dry ready for sealing. Throughout the clean, our technicians have used ECOPROTEC products & this was also the case with the seal. A colour enhancing seal from ECOPROTEC was applied, this seal repels water, oil & grease & helps protect against staining.

Once the stone floor had been completed, it was time to move on to the wooden floor. This floor was laid when the property was built around 5 years go & unusually the designers had chosen not to add any protective finish to the wooden floor. This meant that is looked very dry & was in need of some professional cleaning to give them a new lease of life.

Similarly to the stone floors, we used the rotary agitation machine to clean the floors & changed the cleaning solution to one made specifically for wooden floors. As previously mentioned, the combined cleaning solutions & pressure applied by the weighted machine gives the floor a robust clean whilst still being gentle.

Our technicians then applied FIDDES Floor wax & this was buffed in using the rotary agitation machine. Once this had been completed, the wax was applied to the stairs & manually polished.

Both floors looked great on completion but due to how dry the wooden floor had looked on arrival, this was a great result. Our clients were very happy with the outcome & quick to say how pleased they were & agree that the wooden floor in particular looks fantastic & it has most certainly been given a new lease of life!

Beautiful results of Victorian tiled hallway in Bath

We were contacted last month by a customer who was interested in having their Victorian Tiled hallway cleaned as it was looking a little dull & tired. We arranged a suitable time with the customer to go & conduct a short survey of the floor to help determine the condition & specific requirements of the floor. All of our surveys are carried out by trained technicians & involve the following;

  • Assessment of type of flooring & grout
  • Assessment of damp levels & sub-floor
  • Test clean & strip (if needed) of discrete sample area
  • Application of finishing seals (to help you decide what type of new finish you might require)

Following a successful survey & subsequent quote, our technician Jake spent a productive day on Wednesday this week carrying out the clean. As you can see from this photo, the floor was indeed looking dull & in need of some professional tlc.

To prepare the floor for cleaning, the first thing Jake did was to thoroughly sweep it to remove any surface debris.. Once this has been done, an eco-friendly tile specific cleaning solution is applied to breakdown the historic soiling which accumulates in the flaws of the tiles & the grout lines.

The cleaning solution is applied using the rotary machine which is a weighted machine that ensures that the floor is thoroughly scrubbed. The resulting slurry is then extracted & the floor is then cleaned again for a 2nd time before it is rinsed using pure water.

The floor then needs to dry. The drying process can be done one of two ways, it is either left to dry naturally overnight or it can be forced dry with the use of air movers. On this occasion we opted to force dry the floor.

Once the tiles were completely dry, it was time to seal it. Our technician applied 2 coats of a colour enhancing seal by ECOPROTEC. This seal repels water, oil & grease & helps protect against staining.

This is the finished result!

I think we can all see how much brighter & cleaner the tiles look. Having the tiles professionally cleaned & sealed has certainly helped create a much more welcoming sight when you enter this lovely hallway.
