We were contacted at the beginning of November by a customer who was looking to get their parquet flooring cleaned in the lounge, dining room & hallway. As with all hard floor enquiries, we arranged a suitable date & time with customer to carry out a short survey of the flooring. Surveys can take up to an hour & normally involve the following:
- Assessment of type of flooring & grout
- Assessment of damp levels & sub-floor
- Test clean & strip (if needed) of discrete sample area
- Application of finishing seals (to help you decide what type of new finish you might require)
Following on from a successful survey, two members of the Green Man team were tasked with cleaning the parquet floor earlier this week. To start the clean off, the floor was swept & vacuumed to pick up any surface debris. An appropriate wood floor cleaning solution is then applied to the rotary machine. This weighted machine gently cleans the floor whilst applying a mixture of hot water & the cleaning solution.

Once this has been completed, a wet vac is then used to remove all the resulting slurry. The floor is then rinsed to ensure that any remaining soiling has been removed.
Once this has all been completed, the parquet floor is left to dry, this is done by ventilating the room & using air-movers to accelerate the drying process.
Once the floor is dry, a coat of wax was applied which further enhances the floor as well as offering a good level of protection.

Another great clean by our team that resulted in a much cleaner & brighter floor.
