Wherever marble flooring is laid, it conveys elegance & timelessness, however it can still look tired & dull which is what we found on a recent visit to a home in Widcombe, Bath. The customer had marble tiles laid throughout their entrance hall & games room which they were looking to have cleaned. Upon inspection, our recommendation was to have them cleaned & an impregnating seal applied to to help protect them & make them more resistant to spillages. The customer also opted to have a topical seal applied which provides some additional scratch protection & leaves them with a shiny finish.
Our technician started cleaning the tiles & grout using a natural stone cleaner & then rinsing the floor with water to ensure it is as clean as possible.
A polishing powder is then applied to the floor along with some water to create a paste like substance.
A buffing pad is used on a low speed to obtain a deeper shine whilst being careful not to apply excessive pressure.
The floor is then rinsed again & the wet vac used to extract the water & cleaning solutions. This part of the process is then repeated to achieve maximum results.
The impregnating seal is then applied to the marble floor. This is left to dry & it leaves the floor protected & virtually unchanged in it’s appearance.
Once dried, the topical seal is then applied which gives the floor this amazing shiny finish.
