Yesterday saw one of our technicians travel to Stroud to clean the carpets in 3 bedrooms & 2 flights of stairs as the customer was moving out of their property & needed to have these areas cleaned. Upon arrival, it was noted that these carpets were heavily soiled, most likely in part to a very large dog that had been living in the property, so our technician certainly had his work cut out here.

Our standard method of cleaning was used along with a few tweaks here & there to get as much of the soiling removed as possible. To start with the carpets were thoroughly vacuumed to remove as much surface debris as possible. Then a stain treatment & eco-sanitising pre spray were applied & given time to dwell. Both of these solutions not only kill bacteria within the carpet but they also help to breakdown stains & release soiling from the carpet fibres.
The rotary was then used to agitate the carpets. The machine uses a mixture of hot water & cleaning solutions to clean the carpet & continue to breakdown the soiling prior to the traditional rinse extraction.
The final part of the cleaning process is the use of the rinse extraction machine. On this occasion, our biggest machine was used as it holds a larger water capacity which is helpful if the carpet needs to be rinsed numerous times to achieve optimum results which was the case here.
Due to there being a heavy dog odour & the need for these carpets to be rinsed multiple times, it is very likely that an odour would be apparent post clean. Normally an additional fragrance is not used during our cleans but it was agreed that it would likely be beneficial here so an essential oil deodouriser was added to the rinse water which was hugely effective.

You will generally find that stains lift better from synthetic carpets & thankfully that was the case here although it took a lot of hard work (5 hours to be exact!) to see the improvement shown in the following photos, well done Jon!
