Yesterday saw our Bristol based technicians spend a busy day in Temple Cloud cleaning a variety of upholstery, carpets & wooden flooring. Due to the large amount of cleaning that was required, we had already been out to the property last week to carry out a short survey so that we knew exactly what to expect on arrival.
The cleaning method using on the carpets & upholstery is very similar & includes the following;
- Dry extraction/vacuuming to remove surface debris
- Pre-testing of upholstery as standard
- Spot & stain treatments as necessary
- Carpet/ fabric specific pre-spray to further prepare the stains for extraction & to help kill any bacteria
- Rotary or manual agitation -using a variety of suitable tools depending on whether we are cleaning the carpets or upholstery. This part of the process gently agitates the material working in the hot water & cleaning products whilst loosening any soiling ready for extraction
- Traditional rinse extraction (sometimes called steam cleaning). This is where all the remaining soiling, water & cleaning products are removed

The above process was carried out on 5 bedroom carpets, the landing & stair carpets, a large BoConcept curved sofa as shown above, a 2 seater wool sofa & super king size mattress. As both sofas were on wooden flooring, we protected the floor throughout the clean using various tarpaulins.
The customer also had approximately 45m2 of soild wood floor boards in various areas downstairs that they wanted cleaned.
To begin with, our technicians Ben & Grace swept the floor to remove any surface debris. A wood floor solution is then applied to the rotary machine which gently scrubs the floor whilst applying a mixture of hot water & cleaning products.
Once this has been completed, a wet vac is then used to remove all the resulting slurry. We then rinse the floor to ensure that all the soiling has been removed.
The floor is then left to dry, this is done by ventilating the room & using air-movers to accelerate the drying process.

Once the floor is dry, we then applied a coat of Fiddes Floor wax to the boards. This is a quick drying liquid wax which nourishes the floor & enhances the floors natural beauty.

Here are some more great images of the completed works throughout the house;
