Last week saw our Bath based technician, Jake carry out some upholstery cleaning on a reasonably stained sofa. The stains were mainly caused by the customer using a water based vacuum to clean up spills which had left behind unsightly watermarks.
The first thing Jake did on arrival was pre-test the fabric, this way he knows exactly what he is working with & which products will be suitable.
Once this material composition has been established, it is time to set to work. To begin, the sofa was thoroughly vacuumed to remove any surface debris.
The next step in the process is to treat all the stains. A solution is applied & left to dwell to breakdown the stain as much as possible. An eco sanitising pre-spray is also applied & this is also left to dwell as this not only helps breakdown the stain even more but also kills bacteria.
Once the sufficient time has passed for these products to do their job, it is time to agitate the sofas.
This is done by hand & ensures that the upholstery receives a thorough clean & that the hot water & cleaning solutions are worked into the fabric of the sofa. The agitation step of the process also helps with the release of further soiling from the material.
The last part of the clean is the traditional rinse extraction. This is where all the cleaning products, water & remaining soiling are removed from the sofa. This is the satisfying part of the clean where you see the results that are achieved by following all the tried & tested steps in our cleaning process.
As you can see from the next set of before & after photos, Jake achieved some truly great results here. Gone were the watermarks & a much cleaner, fresher sofa was the finished product.
