The start of a new week saw our technician Pete, carry out a domestic clean of carpets, rugs & upholstery in Knowle, Bristol. There were no reported issues or concerns with any of the items but with a large 2 seater sofa, 4 rugs & the carpets on the stairs & landing, Pete had a busy day ahead of him!
After carrying out a walk through of the property to see everything he had to do, Pete set to work on the rugs.
First he laid some tarpaulins under the rugs to protect the floor during the cleaning process.
The rugs are then subject to pre-testing to check for dye fastness.
Next up, the rugs are thoroughly vacuumed front & back to remove any surface debris.
Any stains that have been noted are then treated & the solutions are given time to dwell in-order to help breakdown the stain as much as possible.

An eco-sanitising pre spray is also applied to the rugs to kill any bacteria as well an extra attempt to breakdown any stubborn soiling.
The rug is then agitated using a soft brush which is used to work hot water & cleaning solutions into the rug.

The final step in the cleaning process is a traditional rinse extraction. This is where all the remaining water, cleaning products & soiling is extracted from the rug resulting in a deep clean that has left the rug looking cleaner, fresher & sanitised.
It was not over for Pete though as he had to repeat this process another 3 times on the remainder of the rugs! Here are some more photos showing his efforts!

Once all of the rug cleans have been completed, it was time to move onto the upholstery which consisted of a large 2 seater sofa.
This was also subject to a pre test prior to cleaning so that our technicians knows what material they are working with & what type of products are best suited to the material.
The sofa is given a full vacuum first which includes all of the cushions front & back as well as the base of the sofa.
The method of cleaning is very much the same as the rugs with a few tweaks here & there but did include the treating of stains, application of the eco-sanitising pre spray, agitation & rinse extraction.

Once the sofa clean has been successfully completed & left to dry, it was time to tackle the carpets which consisted of the stairs & landing. As above, the cleaning method is very similar with the only notable difference being that the rotary agitation can be done with a large machine which has brushes on the bottom to help work the hot water & cleaning solutions into the carpets.

The carpet clean concluded a very productive & successful day with some great results, well done Pete!
