A few weeks before Christmas, we were contacted by a hostel in Cheltenham who were thinking about having the carpets cleaned in the communal areas. With any commercial enquires like this, we always recommend arranging for one of our trained technicians to come out & conduct a short survey before suppling you with a quote. This enables us to assess the condition & specific requirements of the carpets which means we can tailor the clean to suit your business needs & provide you with a comprehensive quote.

Within a week of the initial enquiry, our technician Pete visited the property & carried out a survey of all the carpets & provided the business with two separate quotes as they were deciding how they wanted to tackle the clean.

They decided to go ahead with having all the communal carpets cleaned rather than just the ground floor, and this week, less than 1 month from making contact, Pete returned with the help of Mike to carry out the clean.

The brief was to clean all 4.5 floors of stairs & hallways, most of which were heavily stained.

Commercial Carpet Cleaning

Communal area carpets endure a high level of wear over time. Outdoor soiling is tracked in on shoes, spills occur & because the space is no single persons responsibility, the dirt rapidly accumulates. This was certainly the case here, due to the heavy footfall & the magnitude of some of the staining on these carpets, a traditional rinse extraction was the method used to deliver the best possible results.

The first step in the process is to use a commercial vacuum to thoroughly vacuum the carpets to remove as much surface debris as possible.

Next, any notable stains are treated & an eco-sanitising pre-spray is applied to the carpets. These solutions are then given time to dwell in-order to break down the soiling.

Once sufficient time has elapsed for the stain treatments to have worked, the rotary agitation machine is used to gently agitate the carpets using hot water & cleaning solutions. This provides a thorough clean & also helps bring loosened soiling to the surface ready for rinse extraction.

The final part of the cleaning process is the traditional rinse extraction. This is where all the remaining soiling, water & cleaning solutions are removed from the carpets. As you can see from the photos either side, this tried & tested cleaning method bought out some truly amazing results.
