We were recently contacted by a customer who was interested in having his limestone flooring cleaned & possibly re-sealed. As with all hard floor enquires, we arranged to carry out a short survey of the floor prior to supplying the customer with a quote. This enables us to determine the exact condition of the floor whilst also discussing your specific requirements.
Following on from the successful survey, the customer accepted our quote & therefore 2 of our technicians spent a productive day at the property yesterday cleaning & sealing the floor in the lounge, kitchen & dining room.
They started the clean by vacuuming and sweeping the floor to ensure any surface debris was removed. A weighted rotary machine was then used which has interchangeable pads/brushes on the bottom. On this occasion brushes were used on the bottom of the machine to gently scrub the floor with hot water & stone specific cleaning solutions.

Whilst the rotary machine will help clean the grout lines to some extent, it is not a thorough clean. Therefore the technicians use a grout brush to make sure the grooves are properly cleaned & give the floor a more uniformed finish.
Once the floor has been cleaned, a wet vac is used to remove all the slurry that the clean has produced & the floor is then rinsed through. Before the seal can be applied, the floor needs to be completely dry. Therefore it is forced dry by using air-movers.

Once the floor has dried, it is time to apply the colour enhancing seal from Ecoprotec. This is an impregnating seal which strongly repels water, oil & grease & protects the floor against staining whilst providing an enhanced natural finish to the floor.

Upon completion, the floor was looking so much cleaner & brighter which resulted in a very happy customer!
