Following on from our visit in January, we were thrilled to be asked to come back & clean some further carpets & rugs at an Oxfordshire primary school during the half term break. Due to the increase in the areas that required cleaning, we sent a team of two technicians for this visit to clean the carpets in 10 classrooms & the nursery, as well as 6 rugs.
Our technicians wasted no time in getting straight to work after a walk through to see what was required. They started by vacuuming the carpets to remove all the surface debris such as that shown in this photo.
A stain treatment was applied to all necessary areas & left to dwell to ensure the stain breaks down as much as possible and an eco-sanitising pre spray was then applied to the carpets.
Like the previous step, this solution is also given time to dwell. The pre-spray not only kills bacteria but also helps to release soling from the carpet fibres thus breaking down stains even further.
Once there had been sufficient time for the solution to do it’s job, it was time to use the rotary agitation machine. This machine agitates the carpets using a mixture of hot water & cleaning solutions. The brushes on the bottom of the machine help to work these liquids into the carpets & continue to breakdown any soiling.
The final step in the cleaning process is the rinse extraction. This heavy duty machine rinses the carpets & then extracts all the remaining hot water, cleaning solutions & soiling from the carpets.
In some instances, this part of the process is repeated if there is a particularly heavy soil load.
Once all the carpets had been completed, it was time to move onto the rugs. The cleaning process is very much the same as that for carpets. The rugs are all pre-tested to check for dye fastness & then the solutions used are changed for rug specific products. Depending on how delicate the fabric is on rugs, a manual agitation of the rugs may be used instead of the rotary machine.
Our technicians were so busy that they forgot to take many photos but rest assured all the carpets & rugs were left looking cleaner, fresher & were sanitised as part of a professional deep clean & were ready to welcome the children back after their half term break.
