We were recently contacted by a customer in Winsley who was looking to have some new life bought back into his hardwood flooring in various rooms in his home.
We arranged for our technician, Ollie, to go & conduct a short survey of the flooring to see exactly what type of floor the customer had, as well as seeing the condition & obtaining the measurements. Gathering this kind of information prior to the clean, means that we can tailor our methods to suit your specific flooring & provide a finish that fits with your needs. Once this visit has been completed, we can then provide you with a quote & a plan of action.
Once the survey has been successfully completed & the quote accepted, two of our technicians called back at the start of the new year to carry out the cleaning.
As you can see from the adjacent photo, the flooring was looking a little tired & would benefit from a deep clean.

Our process for cleaning this oak floor included the following;
– Move any remaining furniture/ protect sides (the solutions used will not damage skirting/kick boards, but this is a precaution)
– Dry extraction/vacuuming
– Spot/stain treatments, as necessary
– Ceramic specific industry standard pre-spray
– Rotary & oscillating pad agitation
– Rinse extraction
– Finishing touches (usually buff & dry)
Whilst the work is done, all we usually require is access to water from time to time. However, it is very important that as the customer, you try to plan ahead so that you will not need to walk across your clean wood floors! Once a polish is applied, you must not walk on the floors until they are ready for light foot traffic.
This is usually 1 hour after the last coat of polish has been applied.
Heavier furniture & rugs should ideally not be placed on the floors for as long as possible.
This can be up to 24 hours, so PLAN AHEAD!
To finish off this particular clean, we applied a maintenance oil to the floors which it made specifically for wood floors & revives dull or matt surfaces. This helps your floor be more resistant to dirt, scuffs & liquid spillages. As with all of the products we use, this is safe for humans & pets.
