Last month we were contacted by the manager of a Bristol care home who were looking to have numerous carpets cleaned, we arranged a suitable time for one of our trained technicians to visit in-order to carry out a short survey. This enables us discuss the customers requirements & put together both a quotation & a comprehensive plan of action.
Following on from our survey, our quote was accepted & last week saw a team of technicians spend a productive afternoon cleaning & decontaminating the carpets in 16 residents rooms, a 1 bed flat & all the communal areas.
The very first step in professional carpet cleaning is to thoroughly vacuum the carpets. This removes as much of the surface debris as possible.
Next, it is time to treat any notable stains that either the customer has pointed out or that the technician has noticed as they vacuumed. A eco-sanitising pre-spray is also then applied to the carpets & both of these treatments are given time to dwell. . The pre-sanitising spray not only helps to kill bacteria, it also aids the release of soiling from the carpet fibres.

We then filled the rotary agitation machine with hot water & strong cleaning solutions & set about agitating the carpets. This machines agitates the carpets to release further soiling but also works the hot water/solutions into the carpet at the same time.
In particularly deep pile carpets, this method also helps to breakdown the soiling at the bottom of the pile & release it to the top ready for rinse extraction.
Once this has been done, it is time for the rinse extraction machine which is our biggest & noisiest piece of machinery. This extracts all the hot water & cleaning solutions from the carpet along with all the remaining soiling.
In areas with a particularly high soil content, this part of the process is repeated.
Once all of the carpets has received all the parts of our deep clean process, we then applied a product called Envirosafe. This was an additional precaution that our technicians took due to being a care home. This is a strong solution which kills harmful bacteria & viruses & reduces the risk of cross contamination, it is sprayed directly onto the carpets & left to dwell with no further action being needed.
Not many photos were taken on this clean as it was a big job that took a lot of preparation as the rooms were all furnished as you can see in this photo so there was lots of moving around to do & with the care home being occupied, time was of the essence.
However, all of the carpets were successfully deep cleaned & left looking cleaner, fresher & sanitised.
