We were recently contacted by a Bristol based laboratory as they were interested in having some of their carpets & office chairs professionally cleaned. With commercial enquires like this, we recommend a technician conducting a short survey of the premises first to establish exactly what you are looking for, this enables us to put together a quote as well as a plan for carrying out the clean. Following on from the successful survey, a team of our technicians called back at the end of November to carry out the clean, this was done on a Saturday to ensure as little disruption as possible for the busy workplace.
There was a lot of cleaning to do, so the team split up into smaller teams to make the most efficient use of their time. There was an array of carpet cleaning to carry out in areas such as the offices, stairs, dining areas, & waiting rooms. Additionally, there was also hard floor cleaning of toilets & laboratories & upholstery cleaning of some office chairs.

The floor areas were cleared in each of the areas we cleaned before they were thoroughly vacuumed, this helps to prepare the carpets by removing any surface soiling. Then any notable stains were treated & the solution was left to dwell to help breakdown the soiling as much as possible. Next, an eco-sanitising pre-spray was applied to the carpets which not only kills any bacteria but also helps to lift the stains further, like the stain treatment, this is also given time to dwell.
The rotary agitation machine was then used to apply cleaning solutions to the carpets whilst the brushes on the bottom of the machine agitate the carpet fibres by applying pressure which releases further soiling.
Lastly, the rinse extraction machine extracts all the remaining soiling & cleaning solutions from the carpets whilst using hot water to flush them through.

Whilst the carpets were being cleaned, some of the team were in another part of the building cleaning the upholstery. The cleaning method for this is the same as that used on carpets, the only difference is the agitating of the chairs is done with a handheld tool.

The last part of the clean was the hard flooring found in some of the laboratories & toilets. Once the floors were cleared, they were thoroughly swept first to remove as much surface debris as possible & a cleaning solution was then applied to the floor using the rotary agitation machine. This gently cleans the floor using cleaning pads that have been placed on the bottom of the machine instead of brushes.
A wet vac is then used to collect all the resulting slurry, we often repeat this part of the process to ensure the maximum amount of soiling is recovered from the floor.
The same process was then repeated on the toilet floors, however these areas also required the grout lines to be cleaned. Unfortunately for our technicians, this requires them getting down on their hands & knees to manually clean the grout using a grout brush.

A busy but productive Saturday that was well spent. The floors & upholstery were not only sanitised but also looking much cleaner & fresher as a result of our technicians hard work! So much so, that the company has already booked us again for some additional cleaning.
