This week saw two of our technicians return to a repeat commercial customer to clean the flagstone floors in the bar area of a Cheltenham wedding & entertainment venue. They were looking a little tired & dull since our last clean due to the heavy footfall & wear so it was lovely to be back to get them looking great again!
Although these floors are regularly cleaned by the in house cleaning team, the likely drink spills that the floors incur create a sticky layer from the sugars in drinks. This layer is called ‘Blacktop’ & the sticky residue will attract soiling that regular cleaning will not remove & thus gives the floor a blacked appearance.

The cleaning process begins by sweeping the floors to remove any loose debris/soiling.
The rotary agitation machine is then used to apply a stone specific cleaning solution to the floor which is then agitated. The brushes on the bottom of the machine gently breakdown the blacktop. The cleaning solutions are then given time to dwell to really work on any stubborn soiling & to ensure maximum results are achieved.
Then it is time for technicians to get down on their hands & knees to manually scrub the grout lines as this is the most effective way to get into all the grooves.

All of the resulting slurry is then removed using a wet vac. Depending on the soil load, the cleaning thus far is then repeated.
The floors are then rinsed to remove all the remaining water, cleaning solutions & any remaining soiling that has been dislodged.

As you can see from the following photos, the finished results here were truly great. The flagstones looks so much cleaner & brighter & are all ready to hold more celebrations throughout the year!
