At the start of this month, we were contacted by the facilities manager of a Welsh hospital as they were looking to have their carpets & hard flooring cleaned. Whilst we have carried out various commercial carpet & upholstery cleans for them over the years, we still arranged to go & carry out a short survey to see exactly what needed cleaning in-order to provide them with a quotation.
Fast forward to yesterday & we sent a team of two technicians to carry out the clean. This included the carpets in various corridors, meeting rooms, offices & bedrooms plus some hard flooring in the kitchen. All of these areas receive constant footfall so there were various stains & spillages throughout.
The first step in our cleaning method is to thoroughly vacuum the carpets to ensure as much surface debris is collected as possible.
Then we treat all the stains that we can see. This treatment is given time to dwell to breakdown the soiling as much as possible. At this point we also apply an eco-sanitising pre spray which helps kill any bacteria as well as helping to improve the stains further.

Once a sufficient time has passed, it is then time to agitate the carpets. This is carried out using the rotary agitation machine which works hot water & cleaning solutions into the carpets. The brushes on the bottom of the machine help to really clean the carpets & breakdown any stubborn soiling at the bottom of the pile.

The final part of the carpet clean is the traditional rinse extraction. This large machine extracts all the water, cleaning products and soiling from the carpets. Depending on the level of soiling, this part of the process can sometimes be repeated to reap maximum results.
The carpet clean went very well here & we have already received feedback from the manager to say how well the carpets cleaned up.
Next, we moved onto the textured ceramic tiles in the on-site kitchen. The cleaning here is very similar to the method mentioned above, we start with vacuuming the floor to remove surface debris. The rotary agitation machine is then used to apply hot water & cleaning solutions to the floor & applies pressure to gently scrub the floor. Whilst this machine will clean some of the grout, it will not do a thorough job so the technicians then clean the grout lines by hand using a specialist grout brush.
Once all of the above has been carried out, the floor is then rinsed & the extraction machine is used to collect all the remaining slurry.

Another job completed to a high level in a challenging & busy environment!
